우리 정부는 2019년도부터 매년 ‘여성과 함께하는 평화 국제회의’를 개최하고 있습니다. 동 회의는 국제 평화와 안보 분야에서 여성의 목소리를 높이기 위한 중요한 플랫폼 역할을 해왔습니다. 제6차 여성과 함께하는 평화 국제회의의 부대행사로서 여성·평화·안보 의제에 대한 청년층의 관심 및 인식을 높이기 위해 국제 청년 글·그림 공모전을 개최하였습니다.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is pleased to call for your participation on the ‘6th AWP Global Youth Essay and Art Contest’.

Since its launch in 2019, the ‘International Conference on Action with Women and Peace’ has been a vital platform for amplifying women’s voices in the field of international peace and security.
As a side event of the 6th conference, the Global Youth Essay and Art contest has been organized to promote awareness among youth about the agenda of ‘Women, Peace and Security.’

    • 평화와 안보를 구축하는 데 있어 여성의 역할을 증진하는 방법
    • 형식 : 1,000단어 이내의 짧은 에세이(국문 또는 영문)

※ 여성·평화·안보(Women, Peace and Security; WPS)란 분쟁 예방 및 평화 구축의 주체로서의 여성의 역할 확대 및 분쟁 하 여성의 보 호 강화를 주된 내용으로 하는 의제임. 특히 여성·평화·안보 관련 최초로 채택된 UN 안보리 결의 1325호(2000년)는 △분쟁 지역에서의 여성 폭력 근절, △분쟁 해결 과정에서 여성 참여 확대 등을 그 주요 내용으로 하고 있음. 2025년 10월, UN 안보리 결의 1325호 채택 25주년을 앞두고, 앞으로도 WPS 의제를 지속 발전시킬 수 있는 방안을 모색하고자 함

[응모 자격] 만 19세 ~ 34세 이하의 전세계 청년

  • 1인(또는 1팀)이 다수 작품 응모 가능(단, 수상은 1점의 작품만 가능)
  • 2인 1팀 구성 가능(단, 3인 이상 팀 구성 시 탈락)

[시상 내역] 글·그림 각 분야 대상 1인(팀), 최우수상 1인(팀), 우수상 2인(팀) 시상 (총 상금 700만원)

  • 대상 : 외교부장관상(상금 150만원)
  • 최우수상 : 외교부장관상(상금 100만원)
  • 우수상 : 외교부장관상(상금 50만원)

※ 대상 수상자는 시상식에 필히 참석하여야 하며 해외 거주시 왕복 항공권+숙박(2박)이 제공됩니다

※ The Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) agenda focuses on expanding the role of women as key actors in conflict prevention and peacebuilding, as well as strengthening the protection of women in conflict situations. Notably, United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 (2000) was the first to address the WPS agenda, with its primary objectives being the ❝elimination of violence against women in conflict zones❞ and the ❝increased participation of women in conflict resolution processes❞. As we approach the 25th anniversary of the adoption of Resolution 1325 in October 2025, we seek to explore ways to further develop and advance the WPS agenda.

This contest is open to contestants aged 19 to 34 (individual or group)

  • Multiple submissions will be accepted per contestant(but only one entry will win).
  • Each group may consist of a maximum of two people.

[Awards]
Grand Prize (one contestant), First Place Prize (one contestant), and Second Place
Prize (two contestants) (total cash prize of 7 million won)

  • Grand Prize : Minister of Foreign Affairs Award and cash prize of 1.5 million won
  • First Place Prize : Minister of Foreign Affairs Award and cash prize of 1 million won
  • Second Place Prize : Minister of Foreign Affairs Award and cash prize of 500,000 won

※ Grand Prize Winner must attend the award ceremony, and round-trip airfare and two nights accommodation will be provided for those residing abroad.

[출품 안내 / Submission Guidelines]

  • 응모작품은 본인이 직접 작성하거나, 본인이 그림을 그린 저작권을 소유한 작품이어야 합니다.
  • 응모작이 타 공모전 수상작 또는 표절작일 경우 심사대상에서 제외되며, 당선 후에도 취소됩니다. 
  • 응모작품은 공모전 공지일인 2024년 10월 7일 이후 신규로 만든 작품이어야 합니다.
  • 여러개의 작품을 출품할 수 있으나, 1인당 최상위 작품으로 1개만 수상이 가능합니다.
  • 그림부문 응모의 경우, 온라인에 작품을 업로드할때 반드시 #2024awp #wps #mofa를 해쉬태그나 제목에 포함하셔야 합니다.
  • Submitted works must be original creations by the participant, and the participant must hold the copyright to the written or drawn work.
  • If the submitted work has previously won another contest or is found to be plagiarized, it will be disqualified from the competition and any awards granted will be revoked.

[심사 / Judging]

  • 심사기준은 주제적합성, 작품성, 완성도를 기준으로 평가합니다.
  • 심사는 외부 관련 전문가의 객관적 심사에 의거하여 진행합니다. 
  • 1차로 예선 등급 심사를 통해, 수상작의 4배수 작품을 선출하고, 2차로 외부 전문가의 심사를 통해, 최종 수상작을 선정하며, 10일간의 온라인 저작권 사전검증을 거쳐 확정합니다.
  • 대상 수상자는 시상식에 필히 참석해야 하며, 상금은 시상식 직후 2주 이내에 수상자의 계좌로 이체하여 드립니다
  • 응모작품 관련 민 형사상 법적책임은 응모자에게 있으며 추후라도 부정 위법 사유가 있을 경우 수상은 취소되며, 상금도 환수됩니다.
  • The evaluation criteria are based on relevance to the theme, artistic quality, and completeness.
  • The judging will be conducted by a panel of external experts in a fair and objective manner.
  • In the first round, preliminary grading will be conducted to select four times the number of entries required for the final awards. In the second round, the external experts will evaluate the selected works, and the final award-winning entries will be confirmed after a 10 day online copyright verification process.
  • The Grand Prize winner must attend the award ceremony, and the prize money will be transferred to the winner's account within two weeks after the ceremony.
  • The legal responsibility for the submitted work rests with the participant. If any fraudulent or unlawful activities are discovered, the award will be revoked and the prize money must be returned.

Yes, multiple submissions are allowed. However, as stated in the guidelines, each participant can only win one top prize. For instance, if your works are selected for both the Grand Prize and the Excellence Prize, you will only receive the Grand Prize, and the Excellence Prize will be awarded to another participant. It doesn't matter but, if your work is complete, we recommend submitting it as early as possible. Keep in mind that the number of entries tends to spike near the deadline, which could cause system overloads. Early submissions are advised.

네, 간단합니다. 동일한 제목으로 다시 제출하시면 됩니다. 운영사무국에서는 동일한 사람이 동일한 제목으로 제출한 작품의 경우, 마지막 작품을 최종 응모작품으로 처리할 것이기 때문입니다.

It’s simple! Just resubmit your work with the same title. The contest organizers will consider the latest submission as your final entry.

여성과 함께 하는 국제회의날인, 12월 10일(구체적인 시간과 장소는 추후 공지)에 진행예정입니다. "대상" 수상자는 반드시 참여해야 하며, 최우수상이나 우수상 수상자의 참여도 환영합니다. 해외에 계신 "대상" 수상자를 위해 시상식을 위한 왕복항공권과 숙박권(2박)도 제공됩니다.

The ceremony is scheduled to take place on December 10, on the International Conference for Women (specific time and location will be announced later). The Grand Prize winner must attend, and participation from the First Prize and Excellence Award winners is also welcome. For Grand Prize winners residing abroad, round-trip airfare and accommodation(2 nights) will be provided for participating for the award ceremony.

If you’re entering as an individual, just list your own name. Teams of up to two members are allowed, so if you're entering as a team, both names should be included.

심사후 최종 수상자들은 시상식에 필히 참석하시길 권하며, 상금은 시상식 직후 2주 이내에 수상자의 계좌로 이체하여 드립니다. 국내 수상자의 경우 수상금은 제세공과금 제외 후 지급되며, 제세공과금(4.4%)는 수상자 본인 부담입니다. 해외 수상자로써 해외 계좌로 송금이 필요할 경우, 송금비용은 수상자 본인이 부담합니다.

Final award recipients are strongly encouraged to attend the awards ceremony to receive their prizes, and the prize money will be transferred within two weeks of the awards ceremony. Prize money will be paid to a bank account in the name of the award recipient after withholding applicable taxes. For non-Korean winners who doesn't have a Korean bank account, the transfer fees will be the responsibility of the recipient.

행정기관 공모전운영에 관한 규정 제9조 3항의거, 저작권 문제의 소지가 없는지 확인을 위하여 진행하는 것이 온라인 공개 검증입니다. 즉 심사후 10일간 수상후보작을 온라인 공개검증 목적으로 게시하는 겁니다. 따라서 본 공모전의 응모는 온라인 사전 검증용으로 최종 입상후보작 작품을 온라인에 임시적으로 게시하는 것에 동의하는 것으로 간주합니다.

According to Article 9, Paragraph 3 of the Regulations on the Operation of Competitions by Korean Government Agencies, an online public verification process will be conducted to ensure that there are no copyright issues with the winning entries. Therefore, the shortlisted entries will be publicly posted online for 10 days after the judging for verification purposes. By submitting an entry to this contest, participants agree to the temporary online posting of their works for pre-verification purposes.
